I have read all of the River's Sigh B & B books and loved them. I don't think I can even pick a favorite anymore as the current one always seems to become just that, including Hook, Line & Sinker. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone story but they are all so wonderful I think you might want to start at the beginning.Brian and Katelyn's story is an inspiring one in a lot of ways. She's trying her best to get out of a bad relationship and protect her children. He has always been the consummate footloose bachelor and then he meets Katelyn, his home burns down and he discovers that he's tired of his old life and wants to settle down.
Ev Bishop's never-varying, wonderfully descriptive writing style is as captivating as ever in this story. I've said it before in reviews of her other books, I wish that River's Sigh B & B was a real place that I could visit.
Hook, Line & Sinker is a wonderful romance. The story unfolds slowly, the romance builds gently and the characters were totally captivating. It's light on the cursing and sexual desire is only alluded to. While I usually read stories with a bit more spice I found it totally refreshing to read such an intense love story that didn't need to resort to coarse language and heavy sex scenes to keep me interested.
I absolutely recommend this book and series to anyone who wants to read a highly entertaining, intense story with very realistic and complex characters. I am eagerly awaiting my next trip to River's Sigh B & B.

I would and have shared with my sister and two of my granddaughters I like that the stories are clean true life type writings the description of the location and jacket cover caught me interest first I hope to read more I give this series five stars high marks for action and interest holding lines with lovely picturesque description
EV Bishop weaves an irresistible tale of friendship, motherhood and caring against a backdrop of spousal abuse full of isolation and terror.
I loved this book and all the others. I am looking forward to reading the next one. I know it will be great as well.
Just found a new author Ev Bishop and after reading the first one I just h ad to order all 6. So far this week I finished all 4 books of the Rivers Sigh series and really enjoyed the storylines. Great stories..
Very much enjoyed the first half of the book, characters were developing well, dialog interesting and the story line still had a bit of mystery as to the issues both Brian and Katelyn were dealing with. The last half was good but predictable, completed with the H.E.A.
Hook, Line & Sinker is an awesome story! I could not put it down. I do not normally read stories about abused women but this one just pulled me in because Katelyn was such a fighter to get herself and her children to safety. (There are no gruesome details, she is fleeing when the story begins.) This book has vivid characters and a well thought out plot. I would like to visit River's Sigh for a long relaxing vacation. I highly recommend that you read Hook, Line & Sinker.
Hook Line and Sinker (my favourite so far in Ev Bishop's River's Sigh B & B series) reveals that while you can't escape yourself by leaving town, with the right accidents you can lose your baggage. I will admit it I was crushing on Brian almost immediately—which is rare for a sceptical misandrist like me. With elements of darkness and light, this just-sexy-enough cosy romance is never bland and exposes the full range of humanity, even as it reassures us that the cause of love is not lost, that we can move forward from a damaged past, and, most importantly, that dogs are awesome. With lovably quirky secondary characters, and a truly hate-able antagonist that will make you wish it were permissible for romance writers to insert exotic death scenes (a scorpion in every orifice, for example, or perhaps spontaneous human combustion), Hook Line and Sinker will reel you in—and you will love it.
